Not really! The manager told us to spice things up a little. Oops. [ It's too late when she realizes she shouldn't have said that. ] So you are friends but not like close friends?
[ The waitress seems a little surprised by this kind of outcome but tries to act cool about it nonetheless. ]

I wonder if she came up with that herself. [Or if the management here have prompted it. Would it be worth saying something about it?
